Estimating fundamental matrix based on planar objects in stereo images

Moulay Akhloufi, WeiBing Tong, Vladimir Polotski and Paul Cohen

More on this project...

Abstract - The fundamental matrix plays an important role in an uncalibrated stereo vision system. Because of its sensitivity to image noise, estimating the fundamental matrix is known to be a difficult problem. Many researchers designed algorithms to estimate the fundamental matrix given known corresponding points in stereo images. In this paper, we describe a linear and robust method to estimate the fundamental matrix given the presence of planar surfaces in the scene.
