The presentation will begin with an introduction of the research group and the network of institutes in which the presenter is involved.

The second part of the presentation will be devoted to cognitive infocommunication in general, followed by a more detailed description of cognitive vision. Some research projects will be discussed in the field of cognitive vision: a model of the primary visual cortex, a hardware implementation of the model that allows very fast computation, a model of the eye-retina system that takes the dynamical characteristics of the eye into consideration.

In the third part of the presentation a new project will be outlined, which deals with the possibilities of cognitive communication between humans and robots.

The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion in English or French.
