Problem: Research conducted on infrared thermography induced by eddy current has attracted the attention of many researchers in recent years. Several techniques are used to perform such inspections but in all cases, the electromagnetic induction is used only to create thermal waves in the specimen in order to carry out the inspection by thermography. In the current project, the eddy current induced in the specimen under investigation will also be used as a second non destructive inspection technique. The possible advantages of this double inspection are to increase the probability of detection for near surface defects and to improve the data analysis by correlating the results from the eddy current and infrared thermography inspection. |
