14-03-2014 Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics Warsaw University of Technology Extension of the 3D Light Studio setup with shape and color measurement of 3D surfacesRésumé I am presenting an extension of the 3D Light Studio (3DLS) setup available in the CVSL Lab. The setup is capable of capturing stereo images with calibrated and controlled positions of an object, cameras and light sources. It has been integrated with a structured light projection module for point cloud registration and a color calibration module for processing textured images. The main goal in the integration procedure was to establish a transformation between the global coordinate system of the 3DLS setup and local coordinate systems of single point clouds. The transformation allows point clouds to be fitted automatically, knowing the photogrammetric calibration of the cameras and the position of the turntable where a scanned object is placed. I am also proposing a method for texture correction based on known directions of illumination and observation of a 3D surface. Preliminary results demonstrate the feasibility of the automatically registered 3D model of a color object. Additionally I would like to briefly present fields of research at my native laboratory at Warsaw University of Technology.
